Meet The Owner

 

Henry Martin, CDT, Owner

Henry grew up in a small community near Marion SC, there he attended and graduated high school from Pee Dee Academy. He then went on to the University of South Carolina-Coastal Carolina and  from there he attended the Dental Laboratory Technology program at Trident Technical College/Medical University of South Carolina where he earned his associates degree in 1980.

Henry’s technical experience includes all aspects of Dental Technology, with an emphasis on dental implants. Dental Implant restorations have become a specialty of his laboratory, having 35 years of experience, advanced training, and extensive experience in most systems and procedures. His knowledge extends to clinical and as a result has been involved in hundreds of immediate load full arch restorations, guided surgery, and CT based case planning.

Henry is committed to continuing education, obtaining as much as 80 hrs a year. He has studied occlusion and function at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies and participated in the Spears Study group. He continues to serve dentistry by presenting to dentists and technicians on various implant subjects both clinical and laboratory related. He also teaches courses for the Zimmer Institute.

He is past President of the National Association of Dental Laboratories, twice served as Chairman of the National Board for Certification in Dental Technology, Past President of the Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories, a past President of the South Carolina Dental Laboratory Association and  past  trustee for the Foundation for Dental Technology. He served as  co-chairman of the Eastern Conference of Dental Laboratories for 10 years, member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Dental Technology, member of the NADL, South Carolina Dental Laboratory Association, Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American College of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Henry has been presented awards which represent the highest level of recognition by several organizations:

  • Hall of Fame Award – National Association of Dental Laboratories
  • Robert N. Cross Service Award – Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories
  • Appreciation Award – South Carolina Dental Laboratory Association
  • Merit Award – North Carolina Dental Laboratory Association
